Satisfying full legal and regulatory requirements, BTs Enterprise Risk Framework, the Consumer CFU strategy whilst contributing to and supporting the optimisation of personalised, agile, robust, sustainable and effective processes and strategy. A key member of a team who has direct impact on both P&L and customer experience, and supports the management of systems which perform 3.2m credit checks per year and manage the customer base of more than 19m accounts, manage over £6.2bn of monthly credit limit exposure maintaining £500m monthly billed revenue whilst protecting the customer and BT from bad debt.
What you’ll be doing
* Use your professional and technical expertise and experience in the field of acquisition credit risk and high-volume consumer behavioural credit scoring for our large existing consumer base.
* Maintain and execute the current and evolving BT Group Consumer credit strategy for our consumer base of 19m. Supporting the development of the solution strategy and solution standards to meet all OFCOM, FCA, JMLSG and Consumer Credit Regulation and guidance.
* Support the implementation, management and configuration of the decision management platforms used to assess and set controls based on the ongoing credit risk of the consumer base pan BT. Controls to include setting appropriate limitations to the cross-sell and upsell of products, setting usage based credit limits (with an exposure >£6.2bn) to comply with our Responsible Lending policies and informed segmentation of the consumer base to aid effective marketing campaigns as well as past due collections and recoveries activity.
* Use wide-ranging knowledge of the telecoms industry and specific knowledge of BT to influence teams across the business. Specifying requirements for projects and ensuring credit risk systems and strategies are embedded within processes throughout the consumer portfolio.
* 3rd party relationship management with credit bureaux and with vendors of decision analytic platforms for new and existing customer management. (Current Opex ~£800k p.a.)
Skills required for the job
* Expertise in the credit management of new acquisition and existing customers in the Industry with a proven track record of delivering decision management platforms, processes and configuring strategies.
* Excellent knowledge and use of credit risk decision engines, including the build of decision flows, strategy configuration, testing and deployment
* Good knowledge of Credit Risk Management including deployment of models and methodologies of risk assessment, control, quantification and reporting.
* Knowledge of Consumer Credit regulations and guidelines including Ofcom, FCA and JMLSG.
* Communications, negotiation and influencing skills to develop and maintain relationships up to Director level across Consumer brands with key relations in Customer Care, Technology and Transformation.
* Commercial, negotiation, communication and influencing skills to develop relationships with Credit Bureaux and industry leaders and suppliers in Decision Management platforms.
* Good knowledge of the telco industry, processes, systems, products and customer life cycle across all channels and regions
Experience Required
Experience of implementing and supporting decision management platforms (Experian PCO, FICO DMP and Blaze) for high volume consumer credit decisions (more than 100m account assessments per annum)
A good understanding of credit risk and fraud policies and processes for large scale organisations with practical experience in applying Ofcom, FCA, JMLSG and Consumer Credit Regulations-
Experience of system development and implementation, translating requirements as necessary
Understanding of credit and risk as a profession, keeping abreast of external trends / innovation through the relevant professional bodies
A proven track record of building. developing stakeholder relationships within a Credit Risk environment
Experience of large data file handling, batch control and management, ETL tools (Pentaho) and development of applications (FICO Application Studio)
