Estimating & Route Planning Engineer
Location: Near Camberley, Surrey
Salary: £40,000 to £50,000
Our client is a successful Precision Engineering company located near Camberley, Surrey. As Estimating & Route Planning Engineer, you would report to the Sales Director. Your main purpose would be to drive the sales and quoting activity in conjunction with the internal management team, promoting the manufacturing capabilities and approvals within the business to achieve maximum profitable sales potential. This role is 100% in-house, so the successful candidate will need to live a commutable distance from Camberley. Salary is from £40,000 to £50,000 plus excellent benefits.
Ideal Candidate Skills and Experience:
1. Apprentice trained and/or 5 years minimum experience within CNC Milling/Turning, setting, and operating, ideally with some programming.
2. Knowledge of the Aerospace sub-contracting industry/approvals/contracts.
3. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
4. Highly organized with the ability to deliver to deadlines.
5. Able to influence and drive ideas forward.
6. Sound commercial skills with the ability to understand detailed costings and estimates.
7. IT and computer literate.
8. Flexibility to travel as the demands of the role require.
9. Experienced and proven account management record.
10. Able to build, influence, and maintain good working relationships at all levels.
11. Determined with a will to succeed; tenacious.
12. Polished and professional.
13. Numerate.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and nurture client relationships.
2. Develop and implement sales strategies.
3. Identify and convert new opportunities within new and existing accounts for additional business.
4. Understand customers' requirements for new or repeat engineering solutions.
5. Manage incoming orders from clients, conduct contract reviews at the soonest opportunity, prepare loading orders on to the system, create parts, and build a BOM.
6. Estimating/costing and engineering.
7. Complete monthly sales performance reporting against budget.
8. Attend quarterly sales meetings.
9. Establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.
10. Manage existing customer accounts to ensure the maintenance of good working relationships and customer service.
11. Understand customers' strategy for engineering requirements and manage customer expectations while consistently achieving deadlines.
