Want to be part of a team that really cares and empowers you to help change a customer’s life for the better? As our Lead Support Worker, you’ll be at the heart of supporting our customers who are aged between 16 and 24 and who have a range of support needs. You will support our customers to develop their skills to live more independently in the community. You’ll make a big difference each day as you help our customers achieve their hopes and aspirations.
Typical day as a Lead Support Worker (known by us as Coordinator)
* Creating support plans with your customers and coordinating our small team of Support Workers working to the plans.
* You will be supporting young women aged between 16 and 24 who are in need of housing and support. Our customers have a variety of support needs, some of which are complex.
* Helping customers with daily living activities such as making meals, shopping, budgeting, maintaining their tenancy and moving onto independent accommodation if they are able.
* Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews.
* Cuppas, chats and catch ups. There’s no rushing from one customer to the next here! Plenty of time to collaborate with colleagues too.
Fancy going home each day knowing that you have helped change our customers lives for the better? You’ll do that here, working for one of the top ten Great Place to Work in the UK!
You bring
* Passion and compassion to support our customers to live their best life, working collaboratively with an eye for detail.
* Experience of creating person-centred support plans and supporting colleagues in working to the plans.
* Experience of coordinating and assessing customer referrals.
* The ability to work on your own initiative, remain calm under pressure and have a resilient approach.
* To get from A to B, you’ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!
Due to limits on our current certificates of sponsorship, we are not able to offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role. This remains under regular review.
Our team
You’ll join Vicky and the Archway team, we’re super passionate about what we do! We’re really proud of our hands-on and person-centred approach with the young women we work with. As a team we love a challenge, and we love to work creatively to solve any problems we come up against. We’re a supportive and caring bunch and we look out for each other too.
Job details
* Where we’re flexible with you, we do need to meet the needs of our customers. That may mean adapting your start or finishing times on occasion.
* You’ll work on a 2-week rolling rota which involves working shifts between the hours of 09:00 and 19:30. This will involve working 4 days per week including 1 weekend day every 2 weeks.
* Although your normal shift pattern does not require you to work nights, you’ll need to be flexible and may be required to cover an occasional sleeping night. You’ll also be required to work bank holidays if your shift pattern falls on these days.
* Able to use technology for creating and updating support plans, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues.
* You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
