The Role
We’re currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established M&E contractor based in Liverpool for a Mechanical Site Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing mechanical works across a range of public sector construction projects including schools, universities, healthcare facilities, and hotels. The role will involve managing site teams, subcontractors, and ensuring that all work is delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced site manager with a mechanical background who is looking for long-term stability and local projects without the need to travel nationwide.
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day mechanical operations on site, including labour and subcontractor coordination
Ensure work is delivered in accordance with project specifications, drawings and timelines
Monitor site safety, quality and progress, and carry out regular inspections
Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal project teams to ensure smooth communication
Oversee materials management, deliveries, and equipment on site
Provide progress reports to senior management and assist in resolving site issues
Support the commissioning and handover process
Requirements
Proven experience in a Mechanical Site Manager role within the construction sector
Strong understanding of mechanical systems including HVAC and pipework
Background in delivering public sector projects such as schools or healthcare is preferred
SMSTS or SSSTS certification
Relevant mechanical qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 or HNC/HND in Building Services
Excellent leadership, organisation and communication skills
Full UK driving licence
Must be based within commutable distance to Liverpool and willing to travel locally
