Industrial Electrician 18th Edition
12 Month Contract

This is an outstanding opportunity for an Industrial Electrician to join an MOD project working on the installation and design of a two-year project. This role would suit an experienced 18th edition electrician who has extensive knowledge of electrical installations on Industrial premises.
Main Duties
1. Site surveys:
To attend sites and assess electrical requirements of multiple electrical assets within several areas of the current installation.
2. Review layouts and design of new location and determine power requirements and electrical installation routing.
3. To review layouts on site at the new installation.
4. To provide handovers of electrical installation designs to the installation team.
1. Design:
To use current standards to produce cable schedules and cable routing layouts for the new site using an electrical design package.
2. Calculations for cable sizing and derating factors as well as cable management and bend radius calculations.
3. Ability to produce in-depth bills of materials (BoM).
1. Project & Production Controls:
Specify all related to electrical design components within the project.
2. Liaise and communicate with Sub-Contractors or Suppliers to ensure the services and supplied components meet with the requirements of the project.
3. Attend project and progress reviews to identify pertinent issues and required actions.
4. Provide a technical level of supervision to the installation staff engaged in the build.
5. Work within the budgetary and programme requirements of the project.
6. Achieve the technical & commercial objectives of the contract, including budget and delivery targets.
General
1. Devote the necessary time and attention to satisfactorily undertake the duties of an Electrical Design Engineer.
2. Work in accordance with the Health and Safety Policy and statutory regulations.
3. Work in accordance with the Company Quality Assurance System and Company Procedures.
Person Specification
1. An experienced professional and proactive individual.
2. Capable of being a strong and effective member of the design team.
3. Effective communication with all internal stakeholders and external customers and suppliers.
4. Ability to work on their own and prioritise work based on company needs.
5. The ability to work on several issues and projects at a time.
6. Be willing to work at customer sites within the UK and overseas.
Skills and Experience
1. The use of Electrical CAD packages desirable but training can be provided.
2. BS 7671 (18th Edition) for electrical installations.
3. Knowledge of low voltage 3 phase systems.
4. Experience of electrical installations, preferably in an industrial setting.
5. Full driver's license and ability to travel.
6. 5 years plus experience of working on electrical systems or design.
Qualifications
1. Higher education in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or relevant experience.
