How You'll Make a Difference
You will make a tangible difference to children by upskilling leaders and ensuring quality across the sector remains at the highest levels and continues to improve.
You will bring your impressive leadership skills to inspire, motivate and develop your team to attain the highest levels of performance. Your ability to think strategically will shape direction and the support offered to our schools and early years settings.
With qualified teacher status, you will have recent experience of teaching within the nursery or primary (Early Years Foundation Stage) sector and as a leader of learning will act as an advocate for developments in the early years sector.
What You Will Be Doing
* Using your expert knowledge of the early year’s SEND, curriculum and provision, you will work with setting and school leaders to improve provision and outcomes for children including those who are disadvantaged or have special educational needs.
* Your exceptional knowledge of statutory and legislative requirements (including the SEND Code of Practice) will enable you to offer advice and support to teachers in settings including child minders, pre-schools, nurseries and schools.
* You will utilise your wide-ranging knowledge and experience to inform strategy and contribute to decision-making as a member of a senior management team.
* Your day will be varied and will include both strategic and day-to-day activities. You will provide support and professional challenge to schools and settings to improve provision for all children including those who have additional needs e.g. SEND or are disadvantaged.
* Daily, you will provide professional development for early years staff through coaching, role modelling, facilitating and running training including whole school INSET, cluster work and courses.
* By observing children who have additional needs in schools and settings, you will provide advice and support to staff on meeting their needs.
* We require you to manage projects focusing on improving provision and monitoring and sharing their impact.
What We Need From You
* We require you to be a qualified Teacher with significant recent experience of reception/nursery class teaching and SEND.
* You will have excellent knowledge and understanding of successful teaching and assessment good practice in the context of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
* Given the elements of this role, you will have excellent leadership skills to inspire, motivate and develop your team to attain high levels of performance.
* It is essential that you can think strategically and produce long-term plans in specialist areas.
* You will have excellent skills in communication, organisation and evaluation.
What You Need To Know
* This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Badminton Road, Yate and working from home.
* Please note that due to the nature of this role, it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained.
* You will be expected to travel throughout the authority and surrounding area so you must have a full, valid driving licence with regular access to a vehicle or have an alternative means of travel.
