We are seeking an Assistant Induction Manager to join our Inductions & Access team.
About the role:
SCS Railways have created an exemplar site to provide a new centralized induction and visitor center, demonstrating best practice and innovation across our strategic priorities. The gateway to our industry leading facility is the ‘Welcome Centre’, an inviting and modern space to host new staff and visitors for their onward journey to the Induction and Visitor Centre, Training Academy and ‘Breathe’ our dedicated tunnel safety training suite. Fundamental to the success of these combined operations, the successful candidate will be approachable, a team player, and must have excellent communication skills to assist in liaising with our staff, sub-contractors and visitors.

Role Responsibility
* Managing the Right to Work process by creating a structured and compliant approach to ensure employees are legally authorised to work.
* Managing, creating and rollout of our workshop that allows transparency and is informative.
* Managing the assurance to oversee and ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements and identifying any risks on site and within the team.
* Maintain all induction & system processes via the Engage process and create the documents.
* Management of the vetting service and its associated process.
* Develop a visitor strategy for hosting a variety of visitor groups.
* Ascertain future induction requirements, measure current performance, plan for forecast.
* Troubleshooting with supply chain organizational administrators.
* Managing the procurement approval process before adding a new supply chain to the system.
* Briefing and guidance to the project team, subcontractors, suppliers and 3rd parties on any developments to the system.
* Point of contact for any Induction related escalations.
* Representing SCS and our core values, face to face, with inductees and visitors.
* Support the wider Health Safety and Security team in the rollout of specific Health and Safety briefings and behavioral change program ‘Love for Life’.
* Representing SCS to ensure that the joint venture’s interests and commitment for security and safety are aligned with their needs.
* Reporting any breaches or abuse of the system and escalation to the Security Systems Manager.
* Driving innovation and the upskilling of the project team in all security systems matters and continuous improvement.
The Ideal Candidate
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience in working within a fast paced environment and team.
* Experience as a systems/Induction manager or similar role.
* Knowledge of competency management systems.
* Knowledge of Government BPSS.
* Good knowledge of data privacy law and GDPR.
* Experience on a similar size construction project.
* Experience in management systems.
* Knowledge of induction process and procedures.
* People/Systems related skills.

The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK’s new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK’s 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high speed services.
The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
