Job Summary
As a Quality Engineer, you will be required to support the quality and production teams in leading investigations into non-conformance issues through root cause analysis and supporting teams to implement corrective actions.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, key responsibilities include:
1. Working with internal teams to improve the quality of products for enhancing customer satisfaction.
2. Generating and communicating Inspection Control Plans.
3. Liaising with suppliers and customers (quality related matters).
4. Addressing Customer quality complaints and returns.
5. Use problem solving tools, 8D, 5Y etc. to ensure effective non-conformance corrective actions and preventive actions are carried out.
6. Maintaining calibration & MSA activities.
7. Maintaining records of inspection & test including SPC.
8. Non-conformance handling and corrective action verification & closeout.
9. Responsible for the integrity of the Quality Management System through planning internal audits to satisfy the requirements of H&S ISO45001, Quality IATF16949 (ISO9001) and Environmental ISO 14001.
10. NPI Team member.
11. QMS Internal Auditor.
12. Preparing PPAP documentation to submit to customers for New Projects including the creation of control plans or equivalent and FMEA’s when required.
Technical Skillset:
1. Experience reviewing & interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
2. Visual inspection of cosmetic components/assemblies advantageous.
3. Knowledge of quality management systems, associated industry recognised standards (ISO9001, IATF 16949 & AS9100).
4. Extensive knowledge of advanced problem-solving methodologies advantageous (8D/PPS).
5. Familiar with OEM customer requirements APQP & PPAP.
6. Internal auditing experience.
7. Automotive industry knowledge.
8. Use of MRP/ERP systems.
