Randstad is recruiting for a Finance Manager position for a State Government Department on the Gold Coast. This is an exciting opportunity with an immediate start. This role is initially a 3 month assignment.
As the Finance Manager, you will work closely with and effectively manage a complex range of stakeholders to influence decisions and drive financial and commercial performance and improvement in the division. You will lead your team in the delivery of value-add analysis, cost management and continuous improvement, long and short term forecasting, integrated financial planning, performance reporting, activity based funding analysis, asset management and procurement advice to the divisional management and clinicians.
Key duties include:
1. Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop accurate budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, and reports that align financial performance with organisational objectives.
2. Establish and maintain procedures for capturing cost and pricing data, while actively monitoring and analysing activity levels, resource utilisation, and financial data.
3. Provide expert financial compliance advice, ensuring adherence to relevant accounting standards and government regulations.
4. Offer strategic guidance on financial aspects of service redesign, improvement projects, partnerships, and investment opportunities.
Skills/experience required:
5. While not mandatory, a relevant tertiary qualification such as Bachelor of Business, Commerce or Accounting would be highly desirable.
6. Previous experience in a Financial Management role.
7. Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
8. Experience in monitoring and analysing financial data, including cost and pricing structures.
9. Familiarity with financial compliance, accounting standards, and government regulations.
10. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex data.
11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and guide decision-making.
12. Proficiency in financial management software and tools.
