As an External Engagement Officer, you will develop engaging digital social media content for local authorities in a number of formats, including video, and will have the chance to make a real impact on recycling rates by communicating with residents using innovative digital techniques. You will also lead on reactive and proactive press for your area, with the opportunity to identify and develop good news stories throughout the year. You will support your team by communicating with residents to solve issues, including delivering face-to-face community engagement activities to achieve project goals, and responding to resident complaints on social media. This could include identifying target groups and developing appropriate strategies to deliver key messages, delivering community events, and door-knocking target areas. You will have the experience of working in a team to deliver projects and will be confident in managing a varied workload. You will need to be a detail oriented and creative individual who is confident in communicating concisely and clearly. This role will involve working in both North London (with a base in Watford) and Kings Cross in a hybrid manner. Some evening and weekend work will be required on occasion and you will need to have a full driving licence and experience of driving in the UK. The experience you will need Essential : Excellent verbal and written communication skills Understand how to utilise social media campaigns and tailor communication to different audiences Confident in developing content in multiple formats, and will possess filming and basic video editing skills Have excellent attention to detail, planning and organisational skills and a proven ability to prioritise workloads and multi-task Experience of complaint resolution and speaking to the public Full UK Driving Licence and experience of driving in the UK Desirable : Knowledge of the recycling sector Experience working with local authorities Experience designing and delivering social media, social advertising and digital campaigns Experience dealing with media proactively and reactively You will be able to work unsupervised when necessary but will also be happy collaborating with teammates.
