Mott MacDonald Bentley are currently looking for a Commercial Manager to work across our water frameworks, based out of our Leeds office.
In your role as Commercial Manager, you will oversee and develop a group of Quantity Surveyors to successfully carry out your programme to fulfil client deadlines. The role will include:
1. Working closely with other senior members of the Management Team to deliver a programme of works.
2. Stakeholder liaison meetings, developing professional working relationships.
3. Establishing and maintaining a financial forecasting regime, in keeping with the clients and MMB needs.
4. Reporting on the financial and contractual performance of individual projects and the performance of the framework including the management and development of the subcontract supply chain within the framework.
5. Managing, leading, developing and motivating our team of Quantity Surveyors.
6. Providing effective communication with customers and colleagues regarding any commercial and supply chain issues.
7. Managing the procurement process ensuring that all strategies are developed and agreed and that tender processes are followed correctly.
8. Ensuring subcontractors are effectively managed in accordance with contract requirements including compliance, communications, payments, compensation events and programme submissions.
9. Ensuring robust cost management is always undertaken including accurate live forecasting and actual costs vs estimates.
Essential requirements for the role:
1. You will drive commercial leadership within the division and across the region you are a part of.
2. You will need proven experience of successfully managing a team, as well as experience of working with clients and ability to influence clients to achieve excellent relationships and positive outcomes for both parties.
3. Experience of challenging current commercial thinking and agreements, enabling progressive and dynamic conversations with stakeholders.
4. Proven experience in working collaboratively and leading from the front with best practice and behaviours.
5. You will need the ability to encourage teams to focus on procurement lead design to drive efficiency.
6. Providing cost certainty to the business and our clients by ensuring robust cost to completes are being carried out by the teams and are aligned with the programmes.
