About the program
Wesley Mission’s Emergency Relief Sydney program is specifically designed to reach those most in need across a wide and diverse area. To this end Wesley Mission does not directly provide Emergency Relief to clients, instead we partner with local organisations and services who are well established and easily accessible in local communities. Wesley Mission works with their partners to cover the following areas in the Sydney region:

About the role
Wesley Mission’s Emergency Relief Worker will be responsible for ensuring the seamless delivery of emergency relief support via our partner organisations to members of the community who are experiencing financial distress or hardship and who have limited means or resources to help them alleviate their financial crisis.
Key tasks will also include:
19. phone and face to face assessments as required
20. providing data entry support in order to maintain accurate client records via Wesley Mission client data system.
21. processing client brokerage requests through Wesley Mission systems
22. supporting emergency relief worker with inducting partners into the program
23. assisting to ensure emergency relief allocated budgets and partner voucher allocations are maintained
24. providing program administrative support as directed
25. maintaining positive relationships with our partner organisations.
Wesley Mission provides regular supervision and support for all staff as well as range of opportunities for professional development and staff benefits. Preferred applicants will be required to undergo a Working with Children’s Check and criminal record history check.

Essential criteria
36. Financial Capability Worker or Financial Counsellor (or working towards qualification)
37. previous experience in a similar role
38. demonstrated sector knowledge
39. demonstrated administrative and / or data entry experience attained through previous appointments.
Remuneration
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 0, Level 5, with capacity for salary packaging. Superannuation is paid in addition at %.
