SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) Location: Hull Salary: £84 - £96 per day (Depending on experience) Start time: After February Half-Term Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time GSL Education are looking for a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to become part of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hull. This rewarding full-time position begins after the February half-term. As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with the SENCO and class teacher to provide tailored support to children with additional needs. Your role will be vital in helping students overcome challenges and engage fully in their learning. Patience, adaptability, and strong communication skills are key to success in this role. Responsibilities of the SEN TA: Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with special educational needs. Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and learning strategies. Support students in developing social and communication skills. Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to create an inclusive learning environment. Help manage behaviour effectively using positive reinforcement techniques. Encourage independence and confidence in students. Assist with personal care needs, where necessary. Requirements of the SEN TA: Experience working with SEN students is desirable but not essential. A patient, caring, and empathetic approach to working with children. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt to different learning needs and support children in a nurturing way. A proactive and team-orientated mindset. Experience in education, care, or support work is beneficial. Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
