Job summary Caring for pregnant women who have underlying medical complexities is an area of Midwifery practice that requires specialist knowledge and skills. We are, therefore, looking for an experienced, competent and enthusiastic Midwife to join our well-established Maternal Medicine and Preterm Birth team. The successful candidate will be expected to provide comprehensive antenatal and postnatal care within the hospital setting; in conjunction with the other Midwives and Doctors in the team, as well as the wider multi-disciplinary team. Main duties of the job To provide direct, woman-centred care during the antenatal and postnatal period; and have detailed clinical knowledge of this specialist area of Midwifery practice. To work within our joint Maternal Medicine/Preterm Birth full-day clinic every Thursday; ensuring consistency and continuity of care for women with medically complex pregnancies and/or at increased risk of Preterm birth. To conduct antenatal booking appointments for women who have been referred to the Maternal Medicine/Preterm Birth service; ensuring that the correct follow-up is arranged and any concerns are discussed and/or escalated to an appropriate member of the multi-disciplinary team.
