Principal People are exclusively supporting a unique & diverse company to recruit a Health and Safety Environmental Manager to lead the Health and Safety Team and deliver a cultural change programme.
The Health and Safety Manager will have full responsibility for the current Health and Safety Team and will be working closely with operational members of staff to develop a positive attitude towards Health and Safety.
The position involves working at their site in Southampton with autonomous travel occasionally to some other locations, giving you the opportunity to work with many different supportive team members.
The role will be incredibly varied due to the complexity of the environment which will help you develop your career as you will be exposed to various, dangerous risks.
As the Health and Safety Manager you will be responsible for:
1. Investigating accidents and working on a solution to reduce the risk of these reoccurring.
2. Working with the site operational team to implement a proactive strategy for Health and Safety.
3. Being proactive and reactive regarding Health and Safety requirements throughout the locations.
4. Working closely with the senior leadership team within the business who are open to development and change.
5. Creating policies and procedures for the site in order to make continuous improvements.
6. Developing the current Health and Safety Team both personally and professionally.
7. Maintaining and developing the Health and Safety systems and processes ensuring the business remains compliant.

The Minimum requirements for this role are:
1. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
2. Hold a UK driving licence.
3. Be able to communicate effectively with the wider team and site staff.
4. Minimum of 5 years experience within an operational HSE role previously.
5. Highly motivated and hold strong leadership skills.
