WHAT TO EXPECT:
The team's function is to support Engineering Operations in their objective of achieving ‘timely, quality’ product releases through supporting the overall Product 'cycle plan'. In doing so, the team and all individuals within it, are required to be responsive to their customer needs and requirements.
In this role you will work within the test facilities supporting the development of the next generation of JLR products be it conventional Combustion Engines or new Technology such as Battery powered with Electric Drive Units and Control systems or a mixture of both in Hybrid systems. You will work as an individual and as part of a team to keep the facility and measurement equipment within the facility compliant for Certification and Development testing across all Product Development sites.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
1. Manage equipment issues from diagnosis to rectification.
2. Managing of internal fault tracking administrative tools including eTracker and other KPIs with an overall target of reducing facility downtime.
3. Analysis of test data and evaluation of findings to provide solutions and move test activity forward. Data driven diagnosis using software tools and rectification of issues, engagement of support teams to facilitate resolution.
4. Coordinate a small team of technicians to complete test equipment maintenance, fault repair and other required tasks across the shift.
5. Support cross-functional meetings and improvement projects with various stakeholders.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
1. Experience managing workloads and organising small teams.
2. Emissions, Mechanical and Electrical skills and knowledge.
3. Experience with physical maintenance activities.
4. Excellent computer skills including Data Analysis through software tools.
5. Structured and Logical approach to Problem Solving.
