In collaboration with the Operational leads and the Head of Finance, this position is responsible for leading the commercial elements of business development, optimising bid processes, and ensuring the commercial health of projects. The individual will provide leadership in setting fee scales and pricing strategy. In addition, market positioning and performance analysis ensuring alignment with the company’s overall vision. Additionally, they will ensure that the business's commercial delivery is consistent, analyse results to identify trends and performance insights, and provide actionable commercial recommendations to drive sustained growth and profitability. We have created a recruitment pack which outlines the role in greater depth, as well as illustrating what the key metrics for success are - Recruitment Pack Key Responsibilities: Develop and Execute Commercial Strategies: Create and implement strategies that align with the company's business objectives, focusing on revenue growth, market expansion, and profitability. Conduct detailed risk assessments of bids and proposals to mitigate potential commercial risks. Monitor financial performance of the businesses and make data-driven decisions to enhance profitability. Analyse and review the commercial results of ongoing and completed projects, analysing results, identifying lessons learned and developing strategies to improve outcomes and profitability. Regularly review the commercial performance of projects Collaborate closely with local SMT’s to ensure their discipline teams are aligned on project objectives and client expectations. Act as a key liaison between clients and internal stakeholders, resolving commercial challenges effectively as required. Training and Development: Implement strategic training programs to support the professional growth of the commercial team and ensure alignment with company goals. Monitor industry trends, competitor strategies/ analysis, and market dynamics to inform decision-making and maintain competitive advantage. Ensure governance over commercial terms and conditions of engagement, ensuring compliance and consistency across all proposals and terms of engagement. Implement and oversee governance on supply chain management, ensuring optimal performance, compliance, and ethical sourcing across all supplier relationships. Ensure that the governance relating to the business PII is adhered and monitor the renewal of the PII and regular review of the bordereau along with the operational team Candidate Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in a construction related discipline. Experience: Extensive experience in commercial leadership roles within the design, engineering, or related industries. Proven track record of preparing successful bids and managing project profitability. Experience in strategic planning, business development, and client relationship management. Familiarity with financial software and project management tools.
