Administrative Assistant
12 hours per week (Thursday and Friday)

£28,006 - £28,572 pro rata / £15.35 - £15.66 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
We require an Administrative Assistant to join the team at Smiddybrae House within Orkney Health and Care. The successful candidate will provide all aspects of administrative support to the team as required and will work closely with the Registered Manager and the Senior Administrative Officer to ensure that a high level of administration support is provided.
Experience in general administrative and reception duties, and in the use of computerised systems, are essential. Knowledge of databases and spreadsheets is highly desirable. Duties will include being the first point of contact for the service, maintaining statistical information and records, and scrutinising timesheets. This is a varied but demanding environment.
You will have experience of working as an effective team member within an administration team and possess excellent administration and computer skills, ideally using Microsoft Office applications. You should be able to work under pressure to strict deadlines, use your own initiative, maintain confidentiality, and work unsupervised. We are looking for a good communicator with excellent organisational skills as you will liaise with members of the public, service users, families, external agencies, and professionals.
The successful candidate will hold a qualification at SCQF 5/6 (i.e., SVQ2, National 5, Standard Grade, O Grade, Intermediate 2, SVQ 3, Higher, National Certificate or Foundation Apprenticeship) in an administration-related subject or, where the essential qualification is not held, a minimum of 2 years' experience in an administrative role is required.
This post is subject to membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with adults.
