This assistant accountant position presents an exciting opportunity to shape the service delivery of Signature Care into the future during a period of significant change in the aged care sector.
We are currently seeking a hands-on assistant accountant to support the Finance team by:
1. Contributing to the financial management and operation of the business.
2. Managing the admission and discharge of residents for nominated facilities.
3. Maintaining the Bond Register to prudentially required standards and assisting in completing the annual prudential statement.
4. Receiving all RAD payments and performing any Bond/RAD or Fee refunds for nominated facilities.
5. Managing all resident accounts and fee updates, generating and releasing monthly statements with 100% accuracy.
6. Assisting in reviewing and following up on aged debtors.
7. Processing client on charges and updating daily cash flow reporting.
8. Reconciling nominated Bank Accounts.
9. Preparing monthly nominated Balance Sheet reconciliations.
10. Performing actual to budget comparisons and analysis – Exception Reporting.
11. Managing fixed asset reconciliations and depreciation journals.
12. Assisting with all prudential reporting and reconciliation of bond registers to GL accounts.
13. Assisting in producing Profit & Loss Reports & Balance Sheets - Monthly Board Reporting.
14. Assisting in the preparation of yearly budgets, other forecasts, and tax returns.
15. Assisting in the preparation of General Purpose Financial Reports and Disclosure notes.
16. Preparing monthly BAS returns for nominated entities.
17. Assisting in the preparation of annual work cover returns.
18. Answering queries from internal stakeholders (GM’s, RM’s & SM’s) and external stakeholders (e.g. resident families).
The pay rate for this role is between $80,000 to $90,000 per annum.
This role will need to provide excellent customer service by professionally and timely responding to billing queries and ensuring customer service levels are maintained at exceptionally high standards.
To be successful in this position, you will be someone who has demonstrated experience within a similar role in aged care and has experience working with Inerva accounting software.
As the successful candidate, you will also have the following skills and experience:
1. Experience with accountant/accounts receivable tasks within the aged care environment.
2. Experience using Inerva accounting software.
3. Ability to communicate with external clients to ensure timely collection of debts.
4. A strong proficiency in negotiating positive outcomes.
5. High levels of attention to detail.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
7. Intermediate or advanced MS Word and Excel skills.
