Job Title: Production / Operations Manager Reporting to: General Manager Business / Division: Operations Location: Ballykelly, Data Centre Campus Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Competitive, Negotiable depending on experience Position Overview As the Production / Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the production facility, ensuring that all production targets, quality standards, and safety regulations are met. You will manage a team of operators, technicians, and support staff while working closely with the engineering, supply chain, and quality control teams to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: Production Management: Oversee all aspects of production operations, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality switchgear products. Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand and internal goals. Monitor and optimize production efficiency, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to increase productivity. Team Leadership: Lead, train, and develop a team of production staff, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities. Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, safety, and high performance. Conduct performance evaluations, providing feedback and implementing corrective actions when necessary. Quality Control: Ensure all production processes meet company and industry quality standards. Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions. Review and approve finished products, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Inventory and Resource Management: Oversee inventory management, ensuring sufficient materials and supplies are available for production. Manage and maintain production equipment, working with maintenance teams to ensure machinery is operating at peak efficiency. Monitor costs and implement strategies to optimize resource utilization and minimize waste. Process Improvement: Implement lean manufacturing techniques to improve processes and reduce inefficiencies. Analyse production data and identify trends to improve operations. Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives that align with the company's strategic goals. Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, policies, and procedures in the production area. Regularly assess and improve the safety culture within the production team. Conduct safety audits and ensure that safety protocols are strictly followed. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred). Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production/operations management role, preferably within the switchgear or electrical manufacturing industry. Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams. In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and lean manufacturing practices. Proficient in production planning, inventory management, and process optimization. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. Preferred Skills: Experience with ERP systems and production management software. Knowledge of electrical safety standards and switchgear manufacturing practices. Lean Six Sigma certification or similar process improvement credentials.
