We are hiring a Risk Manager to join our Group Risk & Compliance team. This role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the UK Risk Team, which is responsible for providing independent oversight and challenge over the first line’s identification, assessment, and management of all risks.
The Risk Manager will support the Heads of Risk and the UK Business Risk Director in embedding appropriate risk management culture across the UK business, with a particular focus on Bulk Purchase Annuity Teams.

About the Role:
* Provide oversight and constructive challenge to the GEC and Senior management over the effective management of risk, operation of an effective control environment, and delivery of appropriate management actions to manage risk within Group Risk Appetite.
* Offer day-to-day risk management advice, support, education, and training to 1st line executive, management, and employees to oversee risk management embedding within functions.
* Work with and challenge business management to identify, evaluate, and report emerging risks, risk acceptance, risk indicator results, and risk events with corresponding management action against stated risk appetite.
* Independently oversee and challenge the business risk profiles and risk appetite assessments.
* Conduct Risk Advisory reviews in line with the annual plan, forming a data-driven view delivered to Senior Management or formal Governance Meetings through well-documented reports and well-articulated presentations.
* Engage with key projects as allocated by the Heads of Risk, providing oversight and challenge on the effectiveness of change delivery and the management of associated risks.

About You:
* Proven experience of BPA or define benefit pensions business.
* Strong knowledge of PRA/FCA requirements as they apply to Financial Services, Pensions and BPA business.
* Proven experience of working in a second line operational risk environment.
* Strong understanding of risk and control management and assessment techniques, and how they can be applied to deliver outcomes for customers, regulators, and the business.
* Analytical skills, attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication,
* Problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, project management skills.
