Position Reporting To
Production Manager
Role and Responsibilities
1. Assemble machinery, fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, appliances, and more according to provided instructions.
2. Read blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, then build to those specifications.
3. Operate various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
4. Maintain logs, records, and reports related to production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies.
5. Maintain equipment and conveyors; perform basic repairs when needed.
6. Inventory tools, parts, and supplies; coordinate with materials handler for supplies.
7. Periodically check products to ensure quality and uniformity; resolve issues and alert supervisor as necessary.
8. Perform other related duties as assigned. Overtime may be required.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED.
* Knowledge and use of tools such as tape measures, screwdrivers, and battery-operated tools.
* Understanding of hardware components like nuts, bolts, and screws.
* Familiarity with 5S principles: sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain.
* Knowledge of necessary PPE and safe work practices.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications, connection diagrams, bill of materials, and assembly drawings.
* Ability to operate cranes or other lifting devices as needed.
* Proficiency with hand tools and safe ladder use.
* Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
* Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
* Ability to understand and follow simple instructions.
* Basic computer skills for parts lookup based on bill of materials.
* Basic mathematical skills.
* Effective communication skills.
* Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
* Must have valid work authorization to work for ABB in the US.
