The role Burston Primary School is looking to appoint a reliable, nurturing and caring Teaching Assistant. The Teaching Assistants will work as part of the school team, supporting pupils across their learning, including during lunchtimes. You will: have GCSE or equivalent level, including at least a Grade 4 (previously Grade C) in English and mathematics have experience working with children, preferably primary school age, in a classroom or similar environment and have Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent Teaching Assistant qualification be committed to the school’s high standards of teaching, learning and professional development have excellent communication skills, a warm and caring personality, and a good sense of humour understand the importance of an inclusive environment and high expectations on pupil behaviour have a welcoming and friendly approach with a high level of professionalism ensure the safety and well-being of pupils in adherence with the school procedures while in play areas, the dining hall, classrooms or anywhere on the school site.
