Role Overview:
AWE is currently recruiting for a Team Leader in the Production Operations Group within the Explosive Technology Centre in Aldermaston. The role primarily involves creating, maintaining, and leading a high-performing team to deliver a production plan to cost, time, and quality.
This role is ideally suited to a candidate with a proactive attitude towards safety, continuous improvements, problem-solving, and the ability to adapt to changing team and delivery demands. The candidate will work as part of an Operational Delivery Team to help ensure on-time delivery.

Essential Qualifications:
* Strong people skills.
* Understanding of safety-related paperwork.
* Ability to work shifts on a campaign basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Line management experience.
* Experience managing training records.
* Risk Assessor.
* Understanding of key performance indicators.
You’ll need to work calmly and constructively in a priority-changing environment and manage your own workload. You should have initiative, enthusiasm, a flexible approach, and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
Key Accountabilities:
* Leadership of direct reports to successfully plan and deliver their authorized programs, tasks, and projects to time, cost, and quality.
* Maintain and promote high personal standards and team performance in environment, safety, health, security, and quality.
* Additional accountabilities may be defined through the Chief Engineer Management Arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide adequate supervision of all operations within the area of responsibility.
* Responsible for the day-to-day deliverables of the program within manufacturing areas.
* Engage and support relationships at a local level to promote high-performing teams.
* Ensure staff are competent and trained to carry out assigned tasks safely to time, cost, and quality.
* Support the delivery performance of the production scheduling to meet customer requirements.
* Manage Key Performance Indicator metrics on schedule, quality, safety, delivery, and cost.
* Lead and deliver the local Accountability Board (Visual Management Boards).
* Provide advice and guidance on career development, including coaching and feedback.
* Promote operational excellence and drive continuous process improvement.
* Work effectively with others to build required relationships and interfaces to support delivery of the program.
* Provide a diverse and inclusive working environment.
* Adopt a ‘See It, Own It, Solve It’ mindset by identifying obstacles to success and taking ownership of finding solutions.
* Responsible for undertaking other reasonable duties as required by line and task management.
