Business Development Sales Account Manager – Defence
Location: Portsmouth / Hybrid
Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 (depending on experience) + Bonus + Benefits

Are you a driven and results-oriented sales professional with a passion for the Defence sector? Our client, a leading Defence IT Consultancy based in Portsmouth, is expanding its team and looking for a Business Development Sales Account Manager.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in growing the business, developing strong client relationships and exceeding sales targets. If you have a proven track record in business development, account management and new business generation within the Defence industry, we want to hear from you!
What You’ll Do:
* Achieve & Exceed Sales Targets – Consistently meet and surpass revenue goals through strategic account management and proactive business development.
* Develop Client Relationships – Act as the primary contact for customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and long-term engagement.
* Grow the Business – Identify and convert new business opportunities, expanding your sales pipeline and fostering strong relationships.
* Account Management – Maintain and grow existing accounts by providing tailored solutions and excellent customer service.
* Stay Ahead of Industry Trends – Keep up-to-date with new technologies, products, and market developments in the Defence sector.
* Collaborate & Communicate – Work closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and technical departments, to drive success.
* Maintain CRM & Reporting – Keep accurate and detailed records of client interactions, ensuring all activities align with business objectives.
Requirements for the role:
* Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within the Defence or IT sector.
* A strong network and ability to generate new business opportunities.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
* Experience in Training & Simulation, Drones, or Combat systems is a bonus.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to evolving business needs.
