Purchase Ledger Clerk Annual Salary: £28,000 plus bonuses Location: Erith Job Type: Permanent, full-time We are currently on the lookout for a skilled Purchase Ledger Clerk to oversee a team of two in a fast-paced construction company. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, has a strong understanding of purchase ledger processes, including invoice processing, purchase order verification, and maintaining accurate financial records, and is keen to contribute to the financial efficiency of our operations. Day-to-day of the role: Oversee the processing of the accounts inbox to ensure timely handling of all communications. Review and approve purchase orders and ensure they are cleared promptly. Manage invoicing processing and verify purchase orders against invoices and goods received. Accurately code and enter purchase ledger data into the accounting software. Liaise with members of the wider business to ensure project costs are accurately reflected in the ledger. Prepare and maintain the accounts payable ledger, ensuring all payments are processed on time. Perform regular reconciliations of supplier accounts and resolve any discrepancies. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience working in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role, preferably within the construction industry. Good understanding of finance regulations. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong relationship-building skills with both internal teams and external suppliers. Desirable attributes include AAT qualification or equivalent.
