The role…
Do you want a front seat to the Tech and Sustainability market? Do you like the idea of joining a growing global sales region and working collaboratively with a digital marketing team and technology analysts to engage with existing and future clients? In this role, you have the opportunity to make a difference to a small firm with growth ambitions.
This role means being responsible for a team of Customer Success Managers (CSM) as well as Business Development Representatives (BDR) and work in close collaboration with Account Management and Business Development Sales leaders to enable high impact client engagement as well as new business wins. The sales development manager will be an integral member of the sales management team, working in collaboration with others to reach our growth objectives.
Salary opportunity is £55,000 - £60,000 depending on experience level, plus a very competitive bonus scheme, paid quarterly.
This is a hybrid role which requires 3 days a week in the office during probationary period, and will decrease to 2 days upon successful completion.
What you’ll be doing…
1. Managing a team of Business Development Representatives (BDR) and Customer Success Managers (CSM)
2. Build and maintain strong processes for outstanding client engagement as well as business development activities
3. Monitor trends, engagement etc and feedback to identify opportunities for new sales, upselling and cross-selling
4. Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on customer satisfaction, retention metrics and new business development
5. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in customer success and business development to drive continuous improvement
6. Train and mentor BDRs and CSM’s on sales techniques, product knowledge, and best practices
7. Monitor and analyze team performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
8. Collaborate with marketing and product teams to develop effective sales strategies and campaigns
Key metrics for success CSM:
1. Client engagement levels. Ensuring a high degree of clients reading our research, and having 1on1 inquiry sessions with our analysts.
2. A high Retention rate of client contracts in collaboration with the Account Management team
3. Identifying opportunities for upsell and cross sell growth, as well as identifying risk to contract renewals
Key metrics for success BDR:
1. Effective collaboration with Marketing ensuring all incoming leads are followed up with speed
2. High quality meetings created for business development sales team within Ideal Client Profile segments (ICP)
3. Contributor to successful new business sales results
What we're looking for...
1. Undergraduate degree
2. Proven ability to meet KPIs
3. 3+ years business experience with preference for research, media, events and software industries
4. Experience working in a sales or customer success role
5. Experience managing and leading a team
6. Experience working with Salesforce and Salesloft, or similar software.
7. Sales characteristics of tenacity, drive, commercial awareness and persuasiveness
8. Outgoing personality enabling you to build rapport with executives and influence decisions
9. Team player
10. Excellent verbal and written communications skills
11. Proactive and taking own initiatives
