Major Recruitment seeks an experienced Machinist / Fitter to join our small business on a permanent basis. We value individuals who can share their expertise and contribute to a variety of engaging and diverse projects. A proactive and enthusiastic approach to work is essential.
Salary: £16-£19 per hour, competitive and flexible based on experience
Working Hours:
1. Full-time: Monday to Thursday 07:30 - 16:00, Friday 07:30 - 13:00 (early finish)
2. Part-time: 2/3 days a week
3. Permanent, Full-time or Part-time
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manufacture components for diverse machinery and equipment using technical drawings.
2. Execute turning, milling, and grinding operations.
3. Assist in assembling sub-assemblies and completed machines.
4. Participate in R&D projects and potentially install machinery at client sites.
5. Conduct service and repair tasks as needed.
Requirements:
1. Minimum of 10 years of practical experience in a workshop setting.
2. Skilled in manual and CNC machining (turning, milling, grinding).
3. Proficient in interpreting schematics and technical drawings.
4. Strong skills in time management, planning, and prioritization.
5. Self-driven, professional, and capable of working independently and collaboratively.
Desirable Skills:
1. Experience with CNC and manual milling machines.
2. Welding, fabrication, or electrical expertise.
3. Background in production or engineering.
4. Forklift license (advantageous but not required).
