Bristol City Council are excited to offer the opportunity to work with our dynamic new Inclusive Learning and Support Service. This new team will be working with a range of settings to support the effective implementation of the graduated approach and Ordinarily Available Provision and ensure the most appropriate intervention strategies meet need, as well as build capacity to enable early identifications for children and young people (CYP) with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Role overview
We are seeking three locality leads to work in close partnership with mainstream settings to support our SEND Strategy priorities, including to develop more inclusive educational provision across the city. The locality leads will be instrumental in building relationships with settings and partners to support schools to develop capacity and resilience within settings to support inclusion.
About you
You will work collaboratively with schools in your locality along with teams in Bristol City Council and other external agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for CYP with SEND. This will involve delivering training to SENDCOs and other school staff, chairing cluster support sessions and supporting and advising schools and ensuring the evidence and data is used to shape the support we give.
You will be responsible for managing a small team of Inclusion Advisors and have experience of working with children and young people with a wide range of complex special educational needs and disabilities, along with sound specialist knowledge of evidence-based methods, approaches, strategies and interventions.
