Role & Responsibilities: The post holder will be part of a team that is responsible for delivering the school place planning strategy. With your project management skills, you will assist the team in meeting their statutory school place obligations through working collaboratively with district planners to understand the impact of housing growth on local education infrastructure and where appropriate seek financial contribution to offset any shortfall in school place provision. You will be expected to lead on determining education requirements for strategic housing sites and conducting housing impact assessments across the county, based on the team's projection data sets, and to seek financial contributions from housing developers where housing development is projected to result in a shortfall of school places. You will prepare reports on the contributions that have been secured and committed against capital projects and you will monitor progress against milestones. Your new journey in the School Place Planning Team will bring a diverse workload with challenges and opportunities at every turn. We need someone with substantial experience in project management, with demonstrable experience of successfully coordinating numerous projects in tandem. The successful candidate will be self-motivated with a proven history of working with a range of IT systems and structures that have supported and delivered business accuracy and efficiency. They will have: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective networks and relationships. Good organisation skills with the ability to work to demanding deadlines. Good computer skills with the specific ability to maintain and analyse Excel spreadsheets. Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff and establish robust processes to ensure quality of work. Awareness of national and council policies and services related to the provision of education in the county.
