Main duties of the job Southampton Children's Hospital Outpatient Department currently has a band 6 vacancy for 22.5 hours a week on a six month contract. The role will require you to support the band 7 department manager in the daily running of the department, ensuring clinics are staffed appropriately and managed in accordance to the speciality clinic. You will be required to liaise with the multidisciplinary teams, families and carers ensuring queries and complaints are dealt with effectively. You will be required to supervise staff ensuring appraisals are complete, training and performance is monitored. The Children's Outpatients Department sees over 80,000 children a year across all specialities with specialist clinics for those suffering from Asthma, Allergies, Skin Problems and Diabetes. The department runs a dedicated venepuncture service and supports a preadmission service ensuring all preop tests, observations and paperwork are completed. Opening hours are 0800-1800 Monday to Friday.
