Role Overview: As a Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the commercial functions of the business, managing a team of estimators, quantity surveyors (QS), and junior commercial staff. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of projects while maintaining profitability and ensuring adherence to contracts. Your expertise will support the continued success of the business as we embark on new and exciting ventures in the highways, infrastructure, and bridge sectors. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of estimators, quantity surveyors, and junior commercial staff. Oversee the preparation of cost estimates, tender submissions, and contract negotiations. Ensure accurate and timely cost reporting and financial management across all projects. Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining quality standards. Monitor project performance and ensure compliance with contract terms, scope, and budgets. Manage risk and resolve commercial issues, disputes, and claims. Foster strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Provide leadership and mentoring to junior team members, ensuring their development within the business. Collaborate closely with project management, operations, and senior leadership to align on project delivery goals. Skills and Experience: Proven experience in a senior commercial role within the civil engineering sector, preferably with experience in highways, infrastructure, or bridge projects. Strong understanding of contract management, cost control, and procurement processes. Excellent leadership and team management skills. A strong track record of delivering projects on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards. Ability to manage and mitigate risks, resolve disputes, and identify opportunities for cost savings. Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Why Join them?
