Excellent opportunity for a building services sector Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a busy and successful maintenance team to work on a large prestigious facility in the Birtley area.
Working 40 hours a week Monday to Friday between shifts from 06.00-18.00. The Salary is £36.2k.
The candidate will also have to complete 1 week in 4 On Call for out of hours call outs and this is paid at £180 set for the week on call and 1.5 hourly rate for call outs and overtime.
This role is advertised as looking for someone with an Electrical or Mechanical Qualification. The role involves completing daily PPMs and Inspections, first fix and permanent fix to the depot assets. Ideally, the candidate must be fit and healthy as this role involves varied tasks including working at height, lone and teamwork around a very large estate.
Within the maintenance engineer role, you will be carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks across the site. The role will require a flexible approach as you will often be called to carry out or support works that are outside your core discipline.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. To undertake planned and reactive electrical or mechanical maintenance tasks
2. To complete PPM’s in line with SLA and KPI agreements
3. To provide H&S and compliance engineering on each facility
4. To undertake compliance checks
5. To update the CAFM system and log job status etc.
6. To respond to Helpdesk requests, providing a professional and timely service
7. To support the other members of the maintenance team with ad-hoc tasks across all disciplines
Skills & Background Required
1. Recognised professional qualification (Electrical or Mechanical)
2. Maintenance background in large scale estates
3. Must be presentable and reliable
4. Be capable of passing a security check
5. Marine Engineers welcome to apply
6. Willing to complete work across other areas of maintenance
7. Able to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally
8. Strong planning and workload management skills with the ability to manage short term and long term activities to agreed deadlines
