The post-holder will work independently to organise and prioritise daily/weekly workload and will contribute to teaching veterinary students in all aspects of producing diagnostic images. Imaging modalities covered are MRI in standing horses, scintigraphy, radiography and CT of standing and anaesthetised horses. Appropriate training will be provided where necessary. The post-holder will also ensure ongoing operation of imaging equipment by organising and planning their maintenance programmes; and ensure effective digital archiving of images obtained from these sources. The role may also involve assisting in other aspects of clinical care/procedures as directed by the equine head nurse.

Horse handling skills are essential., Qualification as a diagnostic radiographer with at least two years' experience
OR a qualified Veterinary Nurse with significant equine imaging experience
Excellent horse handling abilities
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of radiation protection regulations and university systems, guidelines and policies.
