Overview of Role
The primary purpose of the Azure Engineer is to optimize and secure our cloud infrastructure, ensuring high performance and cost-efficiency. You will leverage your expertise in Microsoft Azure to enhance system robustness, implement best practices in security, and manage resources proactively. Your role includes driving continuous improvement initiatives and overseeing cost management strategies.
Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless integration of new technologies, supporting DevOps practices to enhance deployment pipelines, and maintaining comprehensive documentation. You will also play a critical role in monitoring system health, conducting performance tuning, and supporting business continuity planning.
Be responsible for and deliver:
* Identify and implement opportunities for automation, performance enhancements, and infrastructure optimizations to meet evolving business needs.
* Ensure high availability and reliability of cloud services by developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans, conducting regular performance assessments, and implementing redundancy and failover mechanisms.
* Manage and enforce security and compliance best practices within the Azure environment, perform regular security audits, ensure compliance with industry standards, and respond promptly to security incidents.
* Monitor and analyze cloud spending, recommend and implement cost-saving measures, and utilize cost management tools and strategies effectively.
* Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud services.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud infrastructure, improvements, best practices, and performance metrics. Prepare regular reports on system performance, security posture, and cost management.
* Provide guidance and training to other team members and other departments on Azure best practices and optimizations.
* Lead and participate in incident response activities, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution of issues.
* Participate in architecture design sessions to ensure our system capabilities are aligned with business goals.
Oversee the management of certificates and secrets within the Azure environment, ensuring timely rotation and compliance with security policies. Implement automated processes for certificate and secret renewal and replacement to maintain system integrity and security.
What we would like from you…
* Proven experience as an Azure Engineer or in a similar role with a deep understanding of Azure services, architecture, and best practices.
* Strong knowledge of cloud security principles, including identity management, encryption, and compliance standards.
* Experience with Azure cost management and budgeting tools, as well as implementing cost-saving measures.
* Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages such as PowerShell, ARM templates, or Terraform.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
* Relevant Azure certifications are highly desirable.
* A commitment to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with the latest Azure technologies and industry trends.
