We are seeking a friendly, self-motivated and dynamic individual to join our team providing clinical care within our Short Stay Paediatric Assessment Unit (SSPAU) at Northumbria Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The Children's Emergency Care Unit and 14 bedded short stay facility caters for children aged 0-16 years who require emergency assessment and treatment with a 24-hour inpatient facility if required.
We also provide support to medical staff in clinic and day case settings at North Tyneside General Hospital and Wansbeck General Hospital.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care working as a member of the ward team under the direction of the Ward Manager.
To be responsible for the organising and co-ordination of nursing services in the ward/department in the absence of senior staff on a regular basis.
To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
To be responsible for all nursing care standards and to maintain high clinical standards.
To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust.

* Registered Sick Children’s Nurse/DipHE(Child)
* Registered Mentor
* Mentorship qualification of relevant qualification (essential requirement for post, expectation this will be completed within an 18 month period)
* Post Registration qualification in specialty Diploma/degree in nursing
