Job Description
We are working with a client in the Black Country, who are well-established as a market leader in the architectural interiors industry.
They are now looking for an experienced Estimator to join their team, reporting to the Directors and working alongside another Estimator.
Key Responsibilities:
* The preparation of cost estimates and submission of quotations for clients.
* Assessing supplier quotes and their suitability.
* Assisting with project planning, communicating project requirements at the start of the project.
* Attending meetings on site when required.
* Building and maintaining relationships with both clients and external customers.
* Ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
* Working with clients, engineers, and designers to deliver accurate quotes that suit project requirements.
* Liaising with Quantity Surveyors on site, quoting for projects between £150k - £2.5m.
* Responsibility for the whole project from cradle to grave, including amendments or adjustments required mid-way.
Ideal Candidate:
* Minimum 5 years' previous experience gained within a similar role, with a solid working knowledge of architectural metalwork, secondary steelwork, and the construction industry.
* The ability to read and understand technical drawings – CAD knowledge would be advantageous.
* Good organisational and time management skills.
* An enthusiastic, self-motivated, and committed attitude.
* Problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
* Good IT skills, using Microsoft Office suite.
* A good working knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, programme, and risk management.
* The ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with both customers and staff at all levels.
