In this role you will work with a portfolio of clients to ensure that the team delivers on key Accounting and bookkeeping activities. You will manage a team of people including an Assistant Manager, Accounting staff and ensure they are meeting key reporting deadlines and targets set.
Services include traditional accounting, bookkeeping, financial statement preparation and review. The entities serviced by the Edinburgh team are high complexity and have quarterly reporting requirements.
To be successful in this role you will be a qualified accountant, have prior experience in managing the workload of a team and be able to perform appraisals, set objectives and use technology to automate some of the activities.
Your role will include:
1. Delivery of the relevant services and the day-to-day management of the team, including coaching, workload prioritisation and review of work performed.
2. Ensure that work is appropriately planned and allocated and monitored to ensure timely delivery.
3. Ensure the management and delivery of services of appropriate quality in line with the agreed delivery timelines.
4. Review of financial statements, which will include full bookkeeping review, this could include transactions, valuations, bookkeeping, or accounting records.
5. Preparation of financial statements for more complex entities within prescribed timeline, review work performed by the team to ensure quality is maintained.
