Each year over 70,000 wax garments are sent back to Barbour globally to be repaired, rewaxed or altered.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, and talented Senior Photography Manager based at our inhouse Studio in South Shields, to lead and continue to develop our in house photography team. A team player who knows how to motivate and inspire as well as roll-up their sleeves and help out.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Team Management and leadership:
* Manage our team of photographers and retouchers to deliver world class ecomm photography and social assets.
* Develop our photographers and retouchers who are at different levels.
* Be a key senior manager in the studio team, and a team player helping to build a high performing creative culture in the studio.
* Responsible for the training and development of the photographers and retouchers and being the ‘lead expert’ in house in these areas.
* Working with the Senior Creative Services manager to build annual training programme for the photographers and retouchers.
* Collaborating with other teams and departments to continue to develop our ecomm photography.
Creative standards and schedule management:
* Ensuring the consistent delivery and creative output of the photographers and retouchers, ensuring brand standards are met.
* Ensuring all photography guidelines are up to date and understood by internal and external freelance team members.
* Work with the production team to ensure that the daily quotas and work schedule is met or worked through together.
Kit and equipment needs:
* Being the key point of contact who understands the kit needs of the photographers and making sure equipment if looked after and kept in working order with management of the Kit budget.
Shooting and retouching:
* Helping with the workflow when needed and being able to lead by example through shooting and retouching.
Skills and Experience:
* Extensive experience directly managing, coaching and developing teams.
* Experience managing an inhouse creative studio.
* Great communicator and knows how to manage and lead a team of creative people.
* Team player, working with other senior team members to create a fantastic management team in the studio.
* Experienced project manager.
* Previous experience working for a global brand or retailer is preferred.
* Experience of working on busy shoot sets (both location & studio).
* A creative mind, with a strong creative eye, who has a strong understanding of commercial strategies.
* A robust knowledge of trends and brands.
* A self-motivated person who is able to take and give direction.
* A confident hard worker who is always strives for the best end-result.
* Exemplary attention to detail.
* Ability to develop systems and processes and ensure they are followed.
* A team player and collaborator, comfortable working across departments and with different creative roles i.e. photographers, other stylists on the team, production team.
* High competence using MAC Operating systems.
* High competence using Microsoft Office (Excel/PPT).
