We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Lindholme, a category C, men's Prison located in Lindholme.
Lindholme Prison is a category C prison based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, with a capacity of 1,010.
Hours
Full time hours, working Monday to Friday 8-4 and includes some weekends
Salary
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £40,211per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
1. Work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options.
2. You will undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed.
3. You will assess patients health needs using an evidence based framework and be able to risk assess use sound clinical knowledge, as well as Open, maintain, close and take part in reviews of individuals being managed under the Prison Suicide and Self Harm risk management system known as Assessment, Care in Custody and Teamwork (ACCT).
4. You will contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to; Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.

Qualifications required
12. Qualified Mental Health Nurse
13. Current NMC registration
14. Experience of working in acute conditions or long term mental health
15. Evidence of Continued Professional Development
16. Experience of working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions
17. Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work and awareness of substance misuse
18. Sound clinical knowledge and assessment skills including risk assessment
19. Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
20. Excellent communication skills and ability to gain appropriate level of consent
21. Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards
