My client has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer to join their team based at their Cleveland office, working on education and health projects. My client is a leading Tier 1 main contractor who delivers projects across a range of sectors including health, education, highways, justice, defence, aviation, water, and environment.
Reporting into the Project Director, my client is looking for someone who can lead and manage a project team, ensuring they are fully resourced and delivering safely on time and within budget to high-quality client specifications. The project includes a Medical Centre, GP's facility, Dental Centre, Primary Community Rehab Facility, Occupational Health, and Community Mental Health centre.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage all Engineering Services activities in line with the company IPCD.
2. Ensure the safe and efficient execution of the project in line with company IPCD.
3. Manage the resources on the project on a day-to-day basis and report any staff issues as appropriate.
4. Manage project commercial issues and cost reporting (WIP).
5. Identify the clients' requirements and ensure we deliver these requirements to the clients' satisfaction.
6. Represent the company on any internal or external issues.
7. Prepare detailed plans and procedures to administer the project and ensure the project team is familiar with and follows these guidelines.
8. Manage all project reporting is provided upstream and downstream in a timely manner.
9. Regularly audit the project to ensure compliance.
10. Communicate with the project team regularly on project-specific matters and company initiatives.
11. Manage the project cash flow positively throughout the life of the project.
12. Manage procurement and achieve best value for Engineering Services.
13. Identify all risks and manage actions and implementation to mitigate such risks.
Experience and Qualifications
1. Mechanical Bias Project Engineer.
2. Experience managing a project team to reach completion within budget and to programme.
3. Programme production and management.
4. Ability to interpret the requirements of the specification.
5. Resolve any technical queries during the contract.
6. Experience in managing procurement, labour, and sub-contractors.
7. Assisting in managing variation accounts.
8. Assisting in preparing monthly applications.
9. Construction management and liaising with the supervision team.
10. Site operations - installation and commissioning.
11. Maintaining good working relationships with the client and professional team.
12. Stakeholder engagement and management.
13. Controlling contract costs and variations.
14. Value engineering projects to create cost savings.
15. Co-ordinating M&E Services installations.
16. All health and safety requirements during the contract including compiling method statements and risk assessments.
17. Compilation and presentation of Operating & Maintenance Manuals.
18. Experience with contract values ranging from £2m and above.
19. Healthcare experience.
20. Degree: BEng (Hons) Building Services Engineering - preferable.
21. BTEC HND Building Services - preferable.
22. BTEC: HNC Building Services - essential.
23. BTEC: ONC Building Services - essential.
24. IOSH directing safely - preferable.
25. CSCS card - essential.
26. SMSTS course - preferable.
27. Computer Skills - MS Word, PowerPoint, Project, Excel.
