Role: Engineering Planner
Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 DOE
Hours: 7am - 3:00pm Monday to Wednesday, 7am - 3:00pm Thursday & Friday
Adept Resourcing Group is excited to be working alongside a market leading company operating within the paper and hygiene product industry. Together, we're searching for an Engineering Planner to join the team.
The Engineering Planner will be responsible for scheduling preventive and reactive maintenance on a variety of on-site machinery. Working closely with the Production Manager and the rest of the shop-floor team, it is crucial that the Engineering Planner keeps detailed logs of parts, upcoming and possible future maintenance. Attention to detail, meticulous organisation, and the ability to communicate change are essential for this role.
The Engineering Planner will be solely responsible for preparing the team and the site for the company's weekly and monthly maintenance schedules and assisting in the completion of planned maintenance activities, ad-hoc repairs, and statutory inspections.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Engineering Planner:
1. Use the CMMS system Shire to ensure both preventive and reactive work is planned effectively.
2. Keep maintenance records up to date using the CMMS system.
3. Issue work orders to the teams and monitor completion and progress against tasks.
4. Day-to-day planning of reactive tasks in line with business needs.
5. Produce weekly plans in advance for engineering resources at Chesterfield.
6. Plan all work and resources in place for scheduled maintenance outages.
7. Work closely with the mechanical and electrical engineering managers to ensure all engineering tasks are carried out safely with permits to work, LOTO procedures, risk assessments, and SOPs prepared and issued to work parties, and develop new ones where necessary.
8. Ensure that parts and services are purchased economically and available for planned work activities.
9. Use the SAP system to ensure that critical spares are always held in stock.
10. Support the engineering team to build programs of work into engineering shut plans.
11. Have an active involvement in maintenance activities at the mill.
12. Supervise contract resources to execute the engineering plan to achieve shut down timings and mill availability.
Ideal Qualities and Qualifications of the Engineering Planner:
1. Completed a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship preferably with a City & Guilds or equivalent NVQ qualification.
2. Highly proficient with CMMS and SAP systems.
3. Experience in mechanical maintenance engineering.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Project or Excel.
5. Proven experience in maintaining complex automated manufacturing equipment.
