Join the Close Brothers Motor Finance Team where you will work alongside the Operations Performance Partner to lead a high-performing team of underwriters and payout administrators within our weekend team. In addition to a team of Underwriters and Senior Underwriters, the Team Leader also holds responsibility for the collaboration between sales and operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Leading and managing Underwriters and Senior Underwriters within the weekend new business operation.
* Taking responsibility to drive the operational site performance.
* Demonstrating effective time management and delegation whilst always seeking to improve best practices.
* Supporting (coaching and developing) the team to enhance skills for delivering high-quality dealer/partner conversations.
* Ensuring that positive relationships are created, nurtured, and maintained between Sales and Operational teams.
* Ensuring the team operates efficiently, effectively, and according to company policy, procedure, and guidelines.
* Establishing and managing relationships with dealer partners.
* Recruiting high-calibre employees, in support of the Recruitment Business Partner, within budget, headcount levels, and temporary resource requirements.
* Providing oversight and direction to employees in accordance with the firm's policies, procedures, standards, and SLAs.
* Holding regular one-to-ones with direct reports to ensure constructive feedback is provided while facilitating personal development.
* Coaching, mentoring, and developing staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
* Delivering role induction and technical training to new joiners, reviewing performance during training periods and providing development feedback.
* Delivering ongoing refresher training, coaching, and feedback for all team members, addressing core aspects of performance such as process, service delivery, and regulation.
* Ensuring all mandatory training is completed by set deadlines.
* Providing upward feedback to Operational management on performance, identifying high-potential employees, and ensuring talent and succession plans are in place.
* Ensuring that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the required standards.
* Working closely with the Risk and Compliance teams to implement best practices and mitigate risk through first-line oversight and implementing appropriate actions.
Developing Our People: As a line manager, you will be responsible for inspiring and motivating your team, as well as developing performance through coaching. You will encourage your team to take responsibility for their own personal development and provide support through regular feedback.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:
* A demonstrable track record in delivering excellent service delivery.
* The ability to build, develop, and lead high-performing teams.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience of working within regulation with key knowledge of FCA requirements in areas such as compliance, risk, and credit.
* Understanding of Service Excellence aligned with Commercial Acumen.
* An ability to analyse and interpret MI at a strategic level.
* The ability to write detailed, structured strategic plans and reports.
* Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet tight timescales while maintaining high quality.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:
* Can demonstrate experience of underwriting Motor Finance applications and holding a set mandate.
