Reporting to the Business Manager, our Senior Engineer will autonomously manage the execution of projects within Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and also has the opportunity to provide insights and collaborate with the Product Manager grow the business. It is a very unique opportunity for someone who is passionate about PPE and would like to work in an influential role - Provides technical expertise and insights to our high-level Leadership Teams within Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). - Provides expert advice in technical areas of all product categories common to PPE to create a strategy that ensures the growth of our business. - Represents UL on technical committees of national and/or international organizations, tradeshows, seminars, etc. - Provides leadership, technical advice and counsel to ULS professionals. - Responsible for initial reviews, status reviews, and final technical reviews of certification projects. - Determines project scope and specifications with latitude for action or decision. Recommends changes in procedures, where necessary. - Plans, conducts and supervises projects of major magnitude and scope. Determines areas in which the product is not in compliance with the standard's requirements or of any changes in project scope or specifications, and notifies client. - Develops UL requirements for testing products beyond the scope of existing standards, or those involving unique features requiring frequent use of independent judgment. LI-ZK1 LI-Hybrid - Bachelor's degree or diploma from an accredited university through a formal program of study in Engineering or relevant Engineering Discipline (preferably PPE, Textiles, Fire Safety or similar). - Directly related work experience in end-end management of TIC projects. - Familiar with Third Party Certification, UKCA & CE Marks and EN Test standards. - Working knowledge of conformity standards in use in areas of expertise as well as technical vocabulary common to PPE. - Demonstrated ability to apply project-handling concepts in use in areas of expertise, including application to complex, new, or unusual products. - Working knowledge of industry issues, needs, and problems. - A strong team player who is able to successfully collaborate with the team and stakeholders - Excellent interpersonal skills and strong customer focus. - Experience or background in product management, sales and/or marketing would be nice to have.
