An overview of the role:
As part of the huge growth in demand in our Energy Transition & Utilities practice, we are seeking an experienced Manager or Senior Manager to join our highly talented team, working on the pursuit and delivery of major advisory, consulting and transformation services in the Energy Networks Sector.

As a Senior Manager in the business you’ll help set the direction, driving forward the business, model our values and behaviours, and coach and develop junior members of the team.
Our clients within the Energy Networks Sector manage and operate the electricity and gas grids, ensuring safe, secure and reliable energy is delivered to homes and businesses. They have a critical and central role in delivering net zero, investing and innovating at scale to create networks of the future that can support more renewable energy, electric vehicles and green gases.
Driven by this investment and the unique position of our Capgemini Invent business in this sector, we are seeing a significant increase in demand for our services and teams. Our vast utilities experience, strong strategic and business transformation skillset, a deep understanding of technology and a highly collaborative approach has allowed us to build a successful track record of delivering leading edge consulting services and solutions for our clients.
This role is designed to further expand and strengthen our position in this market. As a Manager or Senior Manager in our business, you’ll help set the direction, drive forward the business, shape and manager our most critical engagements and important client relationships, model our values and behaviours and coach and develop junior members of the team.
As part of your role you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the business and your own personal growth, through activities that form part of the following categories:
1. Business Development – Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
2. Internal contribution – Campaign development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development.
3. Learning & development – Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.
We’d love to meet someone with:
4. Experience gained within the Utilities (ideally Energy Networks) sector, including with electricity and gas transmission and distribution clients
5. And understanding of the Utilities (ideally Energy Networks) sector and an appreciation of the challenges and opportunities faced by organisations within it
6. Experience of working in a major Consulting firm, and/or in industry but with a consulting background
7. Project and programme delivery experience, across one or more of the broad range of capabilities described below
8. Proven ability to lead and manage teams to deliver successful business and technology outcomes
9. Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering solutions.
You will bring subject matter experience, expertise and intellectual capital across a broad range of advisory, consulting and transformation services. We are looking for a number of Managers and Senior Managers with one or more of the following backgrounds:
10. Corporate strategy, business planning, market design & policy and regulatory advisory services
11. Business and IT operating model, restructuring and performance improvement
12. Large scale business transformation and programme delivery, across areas including system operation, control room. engineering, asset management, capital infrastructure, operations, customer and workforce
13. Design and deployment of digital transformation solutions and services
14. Emerging business and digital trends in energy networks, such as intelligent system operations, IoT, advanced analytics. mobile applications, automation, energy management, digital twin and BIM
15. Currently working in a major Consulting firm, and/or in industry but having a Consulting background Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions.
16. Experience of proposition building and delivery.
