My client is looking for Skilled Fitters to join their ever-growing team in Glasgow - they are at the forefront of developing engineering solutions for the needs of industrial processes.
As a Skilled Fitter, you will work within the Bareshaft team to assemble screw compressors to Engineering/Contract Specification and then test the screw compressors hydraulically and pneumatically to specification.
This is a permanent position working 37 hours per week with a starting salary of £33,500. You will also have the opportunity to earn a shift allowance with the Bareshaft Team currently operating a three-shift rotating structure with a rate of x1.33, consisting of early shift (6am-2pm), back shift (2pm-10pm), and night shift (10pm-6am), Sunday Night - Friday Early. Additional overtime is available outside the standard shift pattern (All overtime at 1.5).
The Role
1. Assemble Screw Compressors to Engineering Drawings and Contract Specifications.
2. Adhere to relevant instructions contained within SOPs/WSIs on the assembly of Screw Compressors to ensure that each compressor is built to specific standards.
3. Conform to all aspects of HCO Quality Management system including the fulfilment of all relevant procedures, including all WSIs to ensure conformance to international standards.
4. Deliver Quality products in a timely manner whilst contributing to efficient and effective manufacturing principles to ensure compliance with cost forecasts.
5. Contribute & comply with accurate collation of Shop Floor documentation information to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
6. Provide training support for Apprentices and work colleagues to ensure appropriate skill transfer.
7. Interact & respond to all aspects of HBE supporting cost reduction, efficiency, delivery, and Quality improvement.
Essential Skills, Knowledge & Behaviours
1. Recognised Mechanical fitting apprenticeship and relevant qualifications.
2. Previous experience of precision manufacturing & assembly of rotating equipment i.e., pumps, compressors, and turbines.
3. Engineering Drawing interpretation ability.
4. Rotating equipment experience, including balancing of sub-assembly components.
5. Previous experience of hydrostatic testing of assemblies.
