CONSTRUCTION LAWYER - 1-4 PQE - Non-contentious with contentious work
My client is looking for a construction lawyer to join their growing and dynamic team. The construction department is known for a collaborative, client-centric approach, combining legal expertise with practical industry knowledge.
The role will be mainly non-contentious construction work with some contentious work.
Typical work will include:
1. Advising on, drafting and negotiating amendments to standard form building contracts such as JCT and NEC including associated collateral warranties/third party rights, performance bonds and parent company guarantees.
2. Inputting into construction aspects of agreements for lease for commercial tenants.
3. Carrying out contract risk reviews for contractor and consultant clients when tendering for or negotiating contracts.
4. Advising on disputes including with regard to termination of contracts, insolvency, payment disputes, extension of time disputes and defects claims.
5. Assisting with bringing or defending adjudication proceedings.
6. Assisting with bringing and defending claims in other dispute forums including court, arbitration and mediation.
Qualifications:
1-4 years PQE in non-contentious and contentious construction.
Admitted to practice in England and Wales.
