Job description
Are you a Registered Nurse looking for a better work-life balance? Do you have experience in complex care, A&E, critical care, or ICU settings? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Clinical Nurse Specialist!
In this role, you'll:
1. Take clinical ownership of your service user caseload, creating and managing bespoke care plans.
2. Lead and deliver clinical training for Healthcare Assistants and Support Workers.
3. Ensure a compliant, high-quality, person-centred care service.
4. Review clinical paperwork and MAR Charts.
5. Build strong relationships with service users and their care teams.
6. Provide ongoing mandatory training and development in line with national standards.
It’s a specialist role that requires clinical expertise along with the ability to manage and prioritise workloads. We’re looking for someone who shares our values and is as passionate about care as we are.
Key clinical skills needed include:
1. Airway Management (Tracheostomy Care)
2. Ventilation Management
3. Enteral Feeding
4. Suctioning
5. Experience of delivering clinical interventions with children and/or adults
Knowledge of spinal injury care, acquired brain injury care, and neurological conditions is beneficial. We offer additional training to enhance your skills.
You will be based at your local Apollo Home Healthcare office in Spennymoor, but some flexibility is required as you will be travelling to clients’ homes across the North East region.
We are offering this role at 3 shifts per week, with core working hours of 9am – 5pm, between Monday and Friday, and a salary up to £42,000 pro rata, plus bonuses and rewards.
A valid NMC Pin, 2 years’ post-qualification experience, and a UK Driver's License with access to a vehicle are essential.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist role offers nurses the best of both worlds with a combination of office-based duties such as delivering training, supporting the wider team and writing care plans with patient contact where you will spend time in the field building relationships with your patients and their families, developing bespoke care plans and upskilling HCA’s to deliver clinical tasks.
The role is predominantly Monday to Friday 9-5, with some flexibility to meet the specific needs of your caseload, but you will always receive time back.
