Westdown camp, Salisbury, Wiltshire.
This role will include Knook camp & Rollestone camp.
As the Site Operative, you will be responsible for carrying out grounds maintenance on the estate. You will be part of a small but dedicated team that takes enormous pride in what they do. No experience is required, just a good attitude and willingness to learn.
The role is Monday to Friday, based over 37 hours per week.
Hours of work: 37 per week
Days of work: Mon-Fri
Contract: Permanent
Main Responsibilities
1. Operate ride-on mowers and compact tractors to maintain grass areas on three military camps.
2. Use pedestrian mowers and push mowers for precise trimming.
3. Operate strimmers for detailed edging, boundaries, and trimming.
4. Operate hedge cutters to cut camp hedgerows.
5. Perform general grounds maintenance tasks, including manual and chemical weeding, path edging, road sweeping, leaf collection, and pruning trees and shrubs.
6. Vehicle driving and trailer towing.
7. Ensure all equipment is used safely and maintained properly.
8. Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and safe systems of work.
9. Maintain records of tasks completed and report any issues.
The Ideal Candidate
Applicants must hold a valid UK driving licence and have means of transport due to the rural location of the site.

1. Ride-on mower qualification
2. Pedestrian mower qualification
3. Strimmer qualification
4. Hedge cutter qualification
Desirable:
1. Pesticide spraying qualification
2. Compact tractor qualification
3. ATV operation
4. Experience towing trailers
