Job Summary As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to provide support to students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their academic goals. Your role will be crucial in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities For Learning Support Assistant Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons under the guidance of the teaching staff. Provide one-to-one or small group support to students, helping them engage with their learning effectively. Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and learning. Help monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers to aid in their development. Support students with varying needs, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), to enhance their learning experience. Promote positive behaviour and a respectful classroom environment. Assist with classroom management and organisation to ensure a productive learning space. Essential Requirements For a Successful Learning Support Assistant Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational or support role. A strong desire to support students and help them succeed academically and personally. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff. A patient and empathetic approach to working with diverse learning needs. Ability to work flexibly as part of a team and adapt to the needs of the classroom. An up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
